- CHICAGO ARTISTS COLLECTIVE (charcoll.com) group show "Blue" features the austere figurative works of Sally Hughes, interior still life oils in large and small format presented in series to invoke time, space and movement by David Moskow, the newest sculpture from CHARCOLL artist and tireless welder Thom Hughes, haunting luminous oils of the female figure by painter Zsofia Otvos, light and glass installation by Eric Medine (curator/operator of local art venue DRIVE THRU STUDIOS), a sinister diary of left-handed thoughts by Kimberly Aubuchon (curator/operator of local art venue UNIT B GALLERY), the subconscious figurative expressionism of E.K. Buckley (co-founder of CHARCOLL), new designs from [wired] - Melissa Kolbusz hand crafted accessories made from industrial and dead-tech surplus, work inspired by the life and music of blues legend Ma Rainey in mixed media collage by Clara Batton Smith, a performance inspired by “blue” by artist of recent Howard Stern notoriety Katherine Cronis, works in and about the color blue in large format oil by Ned Broderick, ghostly scenes in oils by Kevin Moeller, an x-ray/mixed media work from Robin Rios (co-owner/operator of local art & framing venue 4ARTS, INC), guest artist Chad P. Hunt in from Detroit to exhibit his large format paintings, and a new series of drawings and oils entitled “The Knitted Landscape” by northside artist Lois Keller.
